Activities

Our all-volunteer coaching staff goes through an athletic certification program provided by Special Olympics of Florida, Inc. and practice with our athletes twice weekly.

Special Olympic activities include:

  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Golf
  • Softball

Other activities provided:

  • Monthly Arts & Crafts
  • Relationship Training & Independent Living Skills Program
  • Monthly Dances/Game Nights
  • Day and Overnight Trips
  • Bowling
  • Job Training
  • Monthly Pizza/Movie Night
  • Community Participation

"The mission of the Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons eight years of age and older with mental retardation, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community."
